Memphis International Airport was granted Transit Without Visa Port-of-Entry status in 1995 by the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service. This status benefits foreign travelers whose flight will connect through the Memphis International hub on their way to another foreign destination beyond the United States. These travelers will no longer be required to have a U.S. transit visa just to connect through the airport.
